In 1873 an american missionary named Nathan Stafford arrives in the jungles of the congo, Stafford sets up his headquarters in an old Portuguese mission and makes an astonishing discovery while searching through old records. A 16th century diary written by a priest details an exploration of a mysterious canyon which is inhabited by evil and violent creatures. Out of curioustiy, Stafford sets out on an exploration of his own. He is joined by an out of work portuguese slave trader, a british archaeology proffessor , and a handful of native guides. Once they reach the canyon they unwittingly trap themselves inside, the men become easy prey for the vicious predators inside and must fight for their lives to escape this place of nightmares.
