That Shifty Old B*****d (couplets)

That Shifty Old B*****d (couplets)

A Poem by The Everfree Poet
"

the original version

"

The clock on the wall

is quite shifty indeed.

He goes back on his promises

forth on his greed.

He’ll yell out the hour

then, just as you turn.

The minutes will crumble

The seconds will burn.

Wow... this is a great poem! I love the short lines packed with imagery and symbolism. And that last stanza is incredible! Plus it rhymes! I love the title (the reason why I opened this page), but the gem inside is this great writing!

This journey was too familiar. Time as quickly as it passes is still my friend. One needs an ole b*****d in your circle of friends. This was a perfectly cute piece. You should create one on his sister (space) the b***h. Who never gives enough of herself, in the closet, on the countertops, in my head to make room for the fleeing thoughts we won’t capture. Well done!

You've become this master at finding the most lovely of words and putting them together to create elegance, inspiration, admiration, affection, adoration, and so much reality.
