Captivation

Captivation

A Poem by Jessica L Auster

These thoughts captivate me

Just as the poacher

Captivates the snake.

Your eyes are a constant reminder

Of what's happened in the past year.

Walking through this lane has never been

So hard before, and it leaves me in tears

Quite often.

This red apple of sin

Doesn't bring me shame,

Nor foolishness.

It brings me to you...

Baby, let's never stop our sin.

The core of this poem, pardon the pun, is extraordinary. I feel a sense of erotica coming through, but just enough to leave your reader wanting more. I love it!

Deeply moving... the emotion is vivid and powerful, capturing us in each line... each phrase... Mesmerizing...

ooh...short, but very impressive. the power of infatuation and longing is very evident in your words--nothing extraneous or over-descriptive; it's simple imagery, and it works well.
