I was the glass half full

You were the glass half empty

I was the eternal optimist

The dreamer, the compassion in the cruelty

The light to your dark

Cynical and pessimistic

But I see right through you

Through the distrusting scared boy

The light that goes with the warmth

The passion I see in you

The passion that destroys the darkness of cynicism

I see your heart

I see what you could be

I see who you are becoming

I see you pursuing passion

 

So even as you go

Don’t be the distrusting boy anymore

Pursue your passion

Become who I fell in love with

Because I fell in love with the idea of who you could be
