Wow. Our thoughts align, you and I. You covered it exceedingly well. Mankind has been smart and creative for a long, long time, but many don't realize it. I only wish I knew how long ago it was that we were all dumb, with no brainy ones at all.
Although the young me was athletic, I never cared for sports, and was into art, music, science, and such. I watched the jocks get all the attention and recognition. (And girls) It's just not right. What does it matter to the world who won a game?
And yes, while technology is of great benefit to our race, the crooks among us will use it for ill intent.

hi samuel, thanks for stopping by to read & comment. i've always wondered why there's no statues (that I've come across) in parks or wherever remembering of some our geniuses..... only sporting hero's, soldiers, & sometimes animals!!

haven't been here for a while, 'oz my husband went into a nursing home, he has since died. we were married 51½ years & were dating for another 5 before that. i miss peter.

'Useful' is not necessarily pretty, beautiful or similar but is the norm for most people. Who bothers to say a prayer to the 'useful' or at every moment of every day thanks the Lord for it. Yet, the ordinary #useful' is invented by someone or a team of someones who have- without folk realising, has/have cosseted and contributed to the lives of a near planet of people day after day ad finitum.

Of course the inventors should recognised, of course there should be states to them, of course their names should be shouted from the rooftops.

I have a friend that is a hand surgeon he invented so many tools for surgeons over the years he received over 20 patents! They will probably not make any statues for him either:/ But he has helped create many a handshake:) As for the new tools for scammers that's an art form that has been handed down for generations and they never will be as clever as the real inventors

Dear Carola,
I like your ill-wit-humor. The Genius of post-modern days, and now.
It was much fun, more ideal, but there was no medicine, the couch existed.
I do find your work grand. I love the 1800s-1400's avast. The historical monuments of not only
our forefathers in the U.S. and the footprints of history from our beginning, of God given fate.

It is scammers that epitomize the lowest form of human kind.
Even my dear old, susceptible, always seeing the best in everybody, mother, got taken for some no. of thousands, although that murdering, slimy, life shattering, filthy scumball, Putin, has got pretty well everyone else beat

hello dave, thanks for reading & commenting. always wondered why there were no statues of our geniuses, I've never seen any so far.
luckily I've never been scammed yet (fingers crossed) if they are so clever at scamming why don't they put their cleverness into something that's legitimate & doesn't hurt people.
a pity people don't remember the last of the 10 commandments ... thou shalt not covet.

Dear Carola, a poem in praise of inventors and how they have made our lives so much more comfortable. I too can remember the old wash tub of the past and the mangle. Household chores for my grandmother’s generation, so time consuming. A vacuum cleaner instead of a broom which just sent the dust flying instead of picking it up, a joy to behold. And of course communication, improved in so many ways. Easy to remain in touch with relatives half way across the world now. You are so right to mention the dangers though. The opportunities to get fleeced are there in abundance. Particularly difficult for older people who tend to be more trusting. There are many crooks out there. Good to read you. I hope all is good in your world. Well penned stanzas and with a message too.
