Consumption

Consumption

A Poem by Carrie Chose
"

In the modern age, what are we but consumers? Will we overrun our cities, scarify our commodities, and devalue our culture in the future?

"

An ant in an age of anarchy

That is what I am

Hither and thither do I run

Because, of course, I can

Follow another, or follow none

No one seems to care

Until you make that one mistake

And run for hide and hair

Run for all we care to

Speak of Heros like our gods

Take the easy route

And leaving the thinking to the clods

People of the populace

Art is what we eat

Taking all the culture

Leaving nothing but the street
