How Will I Know?

How Will I Know?

A Poem by Heromen Selena
"

Inspired by How Will I Know by whitney houston.

"
There you are
Right in front of me
Within arm's reach
But so far

All I have to do
Is pick up the phone
Speak what my heart is shouting
And tell you what I've known all along

Except I'm glued at my spot
Unable to say what I want to
For the fear of rejection
Is what keeps me nailed to the floor

My stomach tosses just looking at you
The heart knows what it wants
The brain overrides it
And shoots my confidence down

How will I know?
If you feel the same way?
The way you talk to me
Makes me want to believe it

I fall every time you open your mouth
Each time you text me
Each time you touch me
And each time you look at me

Staring at the phone
The only thing between knowing
And not knowing forever
If I can't do it now, I won't.

Author's Note

Heromen Selena
What do you think? This is how I've been feeling lately. Thoughts are swarming in my mind telling me I should do this and that. It's like a pessimist is on one shoulder and an optimist is on the other. The song that this is based off of fits my feelings right now.
