                              Dear Clinton, Michigan

You told me often.
Love wasn't enough.
The heart become too hidden with time and age.

------
                             California isn't enough
I called you beautiful Jenny and I told you.
California coastline is so beautiful.
The Monterey sea will steal your heart and mind.
I sat near the dancing waves with clear sky, filled with the stars.
I whispered to the sea. Sweet Jenny.
Come to Monterey and be my love.
Make California our last stand to know love.
 ----------------------------

                        Last stand
Last kiss, last wish.
First face remembered, last face wishing to be caressed and kissed.
You were my love and you were my hell.
Today I would stand the pain and misery of losing you.
If I could see your face and hold you near.

You have written of a woman named Jenny before and when you do, the longing is so strong. We often yearn to have just one more encounter with that special someone. Indeed, a "perfect" lover can also be a perfect tormentor. John, your words are ever honest and I can relate to them. Lydi**

I love the softness and simplicity of your story telling style. Still gives me goosebumps. Note - you might have forgotten a "be" in wishing to (be) caressed.:)

Beautiful longing in this piece, Coyote.
Especially being a lover of all things coastal, I cannot wait to visit this Californian coastline that can only be topped by a beauty...

Thank you my friend for reading and the comment. I do appreciate.
Very realistic & unique painting of three stages in a relationship. I'm thinking that beckoning one's love to California could be analogous to luring a lover away from familiarity & toward the unknown, which is often a major hurdle in relationships. Of course, since I live in the Big Sur mnts, I definitely related to your descriptions of the area! *smile*
