Close my eyes

Close my eyes

A Poem by Coyote Poetry
"

Some words.

"
                             Close my eyes

My rock and roll lady,
we were rage, hate and anger,
we were going to be great storms,
we had youth as our wealth and we loved the night.

Once we were the brave ones,
we escape to California.
We danced with the sea,
drank the tequila dried and we had enough.

We forgot to obey the call to love,
we forgot the dreams of youth,
we fell into the s**t of living.

Now mistress night bring your face to me,
now deadly midnight hour,
make dead man living,
wish and pray for you my rock and roll lady.

We had the songs, we had the California dream.
Now sleeping man is awaken again.
He hear the cry of the sea,
he hear the words in the song.

Now the dark Poet sit alone,
the tequila half gone in his hands and he whispered to the Pacific.
I loved a woman once and she loved me so.

So damn sad,
we can have everything and
everything wasn't enough.

awwwww so sad the wisdom that comes to late in love :( really like this:
"we were going to be great storms," and this:
"we fell into the s**t of living." ...... harsh truth leaves body rash sometimes ... what a sad passionate nitty gritty poem sir!

Thank you dear Melinda for reading and comment. I appreciate the comment.
Coyote, this is so much more than a poem. This is a masterful painting, a man reflecting, perhaps half-drunk, overlooking the Pacific at midnight, listening to Ozzy and Lita (an amazing performance here), wondering how he allowed "the s**t of living" to wash away the love of his life.

This is a tragic story, but a valuable lesson about how easily we can lose focus of what's truly important... love and especially the love of another. "Everything" isn't enough without the love of your life. An incredible work, sir.

You're welcome. And, yes they're two of the great ones.
Being "rage hate and anger" takes a lifetime...it is a serious walk...a great line. The only great anger I hold to this day is with indifference in self, "we got a thing going on". Loved Ozzy coupled with the "dark Poet". and he "freaking remembered" ..Yet another great howl from the soul. I was spared my own by remembering how the walk of two must begin with one. Thanks for the read~

Even with our eyes wide open, we often fail to see the wood for the trees. It's very human, as is the broken heart of lost dreams.
