Half as much

I found a large book of poetry in my father's office. He passed on last month. No-one knows who wrote the poetry. The writer is unknown. I must post some of this wonderful work written 60 years ago.

Half as much

If you love me half as I love you.

You wouldn’t worry me half as much as you do.

You’re nice to me when there’s no-one else around,

you only built me up to let me down.

If you miss me half as much as I miss you.

You wouldn’t stay away as much as you do.

I know that I would never be this blue,

if you loved me half as much as I love you.

You did. A Hank William senior song. I did some research. My father's first wife copy the ancient song for him. The words are amazing. The old songs were poetry. He would memorize and sing at local tavern.

Of course you can and I found out. My father's first wife copy a old Hank Williams senior song. My father was a country singer and she wrote down 500 of the ancient songs from 1940-1958. She die of cancer in 1958.
