The cold night whispered

The cold night whispered

A Poem by Coyote Poetry
"

Just words.

"
                                      The cold night whispered
The April rain hid my tears and I walked alone.
Once  great love turn indifferent and
our love true turn to fathom dreams.

We spoke careless words,
maybe true, maybe not?
Maybe we were grasping at a miracle?

I told the rain,
love died slowly and badly.
I longed for her near,
I longed to hear her heartbeat and her song.

My songbird,
we knew rhyme and song and now,
we know we could bleed.

The cold night whispered to me,
the abyss of love dance,
just great storms we shall know.

Now crimson love touches and
silent goodbyes,
Leave us praying for more.

Now I sit by the sea,
drinking the whiskey and remembering you.
Do you remember me?

You really do look into space to feel the bliss or fever of love, don't you, John. Seems you accept whatever - the feelings much deeper than some by acknowledging the depth and pain of loving.. whether for parent, sibling, friend or- passion itself. This is a wonderful piece of writing, one of your very best.. heartfelt words with such distinct emotions. Perhaps 'intense' is the right word. (Previous review rambled, shortened it!)

They were each other's inspiration. Just what each other was looking for, but not what either one of them were expecting.

That's very true, and you are very welcome.
The sea has all the answers, probably we all gravitate to it.
The vastness just overwhelms you at times, but you always walk away in a better mood even if the hurt stays with you.

dearest John... Many of us would say... we are glad we did not miss "the dance".
There is usually a special someone who comes to mind when the Wind sings
over waves of lullabies when the Sea is at ebb tide and love abides. tenderly, Pat

Thank you dear Pat for reading and the comment. I do appreciate. Best place to gain sanity, the sea.
Heartfelt words here Coyote of a love which didn't endure. It certainly wasn't forgotten and in these lines the feelings run deep. The whiskey must numb the pain. Your last line is particularly poignant. We all want to be remembered and better to remember the good times than the bad.

There are some great lines in here. No matter how many times we fail or succeed in love it is always a chapter to look back on and reminisce. You've done an amazing job at capturing that essence. Great job!

Thank you duff for reading and the comment. I agree. Good to reminisce, keep our pen alive.
Beautiful. Truly feel the emotion.
Always seems like nighttime is when the memories take over.
The last line is very relatable. We’re always left to wonder if those we’ve left and lost still think of us

Coyote, several quotable phrases and verses in this one. And, that song is the perfect music to pair with it. It's interesting to me how many couples say that's "our song." I ask them if they've listened to or read the lyrics.

This speaks to the pain from a true love, not something on the periphery or short-lived, and so lives the pain. I always admire you can create so much imagery and emotion in a relatively short, simple piece.
