Chain, chain, chain

Chain, chain, chain

A Poem by Coyote Poetry
"

Little poetry time.

"
Prettiest gal I ever known walked to the door,
dead bolted the door tightly,
and she whispered.
Sometimes, you cannot run.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I didn't know true love till she touched my feet.
She was long, she was forever and
she whispered as her coldness caressed my feet.
I will keep you safe and allow you know peace.
I knew, I would never forget her.
I would yearn to be with her forever.
I told the Pacific ocean,
You have stolen my heart.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chain, chain, chain, we shall know my lover.
Chains that can't be broken.
Love can be warm as a July Texas Summer day and can be,
cold as a Alaska Winter morning.
I tried to run away and I two-stepped to the locked door.
My lover, she smiled and she whispered.
Chain, chain, chain we are.
No escape my lover.
The devil kiss is forever,
no release till the house fall down.

This is amazing and feels like something I should be reading out of a classic poetry book. I loved the fieriness, and even the formatting added so much. You said it was your attempt at short poetry, but even in its shortness, you told a wonderful story.

My boyfriend is always talking about the duality of everything. This reminds me of his words.

Thank you Jacob. One of the great songs.
The story is still there and complete even in its briefer format. No matter how chained we feel, we will always try and break free eventually. A bit like the caged bird who longs for the freedom of flight. We may endure the chains for a short time, but most will find a way to escape the confinement. Wonderfully conveyed Coyote.

Thank you dear Chris. I agree. Freedom is never forgotten.
You manage as always to weave together romance and tension and in this case a sense of panic as the subject attempts to break free. This has a spooky tone as he is 'held' captive. Shades of the movie 'Misery'!

Thank you John. Misery was a scary movie.
