Pieces of April

Pieces of April

A Poem by Coyote Poetry
"

Great song made me write.

"
                                               Pieces of April....
My dreamland beauty, she comes to my mind in early April.
The cold of Winter almost gone  and I remember our Spring time kisses,
our Spring time dances with Lake Michigan.
I loved when she was careless and wild.
She made me brave and foolish.

I called her my wildflower and she called me.
Her soldier boy who loved war more than her.

We would buy some beer and go to the Iron Mountain Mountain dump,
we would watch the bears at midnight and we would go to the Wisconsin river.
She would run into the cold river in bra and panties. She would laugh at the moon and the stars.
She made me smile and so happy.

I told her, she was my April dream,
my May blessing.
My Springtime wish and I will love you forever.
Now kind April is here,
the warm sun is touching my face.
I go to the Wisconsin river and I take off my shoes and socks.
I walk into the coldness of the River,
the cold water make me remember.

Beautiful Cathy,
her colorful spirit making my world, shade of blue,
shade of white and the shade of red.
She taught me to laugh and to seek the beautiful things in my world.

Her soft voice and her kind heart.
Made me believe I wasn't alone.
Today is the first day of April and I remember her.

I told the running Wisconsin river,
please tell the most beautiful girl in the world,
the kindest gal.
It is April and I miss you so.
My war is over and you saved me often.
In the mist of war.
I remember the month of April and
I remembered a barefoot beauty dancing with me near Lake Michigan.

A lasting place in my heart and I remember you.

As you know, being a Californian, I consider anything below 60* to be too cold to strip down to panty & bra & take a dip in some brutal April stream. Around here, the streams don't get comfy until about July, cuz the water pours from deep headwater crevices so sparkling & chilly! I couldn't quite get into the daring icy-wet mood of your poem, but I always love your romantic romps. This one is perfect for a valentine reverie in the midst of winter. Kinda like a Coyote Polar Plunge! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

April Showers bring May flowers. We were created to be sensual
and Nature seduces the most innocent.... your poetry is always
about the warmth of love and the innocence thereof. May butterflies
bring scents of Springtime Valentines. truly, Pat

Hello dear Pat. I need a warm day. Very cold in Michigan. Thank you for reading and the comment.
Some people affect us too much to forget so we remember them always in a good light. This girl had a lasting impression on you that will last the rest of your days. Of that I'm sure. It is often hard to read someone else's personal poem because we can't relate to it. However, you write in such a way that warms the heart and leaves a smile on the face of the reader.

Great writing, Coyote.

Thank you my kind friend. Us, who love to write. We remember the good days and the friendly faces.
The cold brings us alive. You either love it or you hate it. Descriptive like a table setting. Everything is there to see and more. Nice work.

A Michigan poem written with Michigan theorems, about a pretty Michigan woman , next to Lake Michigan, with Michigan bears, with lush Michigan shades and that hint that a Michigan April is only 60 days in the future, I mean, how perfect is that? Yet, whoever she was, she left quite an impression... Lovely writing my friend...dana

Thank you my friend for reading and the comment. I do appreciate.
A lovely poem of sweet memories, maybe even just a dream, but no matter, the words and images are so clear and real, But only in April. I caught one line that she says you love the war more than her, which strikes a little discord, but all in all, such a romantic tale of a lost love, and now back from the war alone. The water must be freezing, especially to go nude! Really good write!
Best, Betty
P.S. Where do you live in Michigan?, My granddaughter went to Ann Arbor, graduated from the nursing school
