She brought him closer and she whispered.

Love can be sweet, love can be damned.

2- Now he yearn for the darkness, now he yearn for the whiskey.

Now he find salvation in the Jazz clubs and he loved the women wearing the black dresses

and the fancy stockings on their soft legs, telling no lies.

He told the night. Dearest Sarah, where are you now?

He yearned for yesterday to be forgotten and he knows.

The silly dreams of youth had broke his back.

Old soldier are rewarded medals and they are not rewarded the gift of love.

He raised the finger of whiskey and he told the night.
