A wish upon a star

A wish upon a star

A Poem by Coyote Poetry
"

Old dreams never fade away.

"
A  wish upon a star

Every night before I close my eyes.
 I whisper your name.

I make a wish to kiss your lips.
To feel the heat of your body.

I sent you a prayer.
A prayer you have found happiness.

I held you so tightly once.
But I saw the loneliness.
The hunger for the road in your eyes.

My wandering Angel was dying.
I drove you to the airport.

I watched as you flew away from me.
I whispered I would wait for you.

I knew when you set a wild animal free.
They will  never come back.

I drink the tequila now.
I run down Big Surf beaches yelling your name.

Sweet name to my heart.

I sit by the  bay.
After the tequila killed all my senses.

I dream I can see you dancing naked on the beach.
Whispering to  me.
" life is to be lived. Don'
t wallow in sadness."

You told me once you love me more than life..
 I will never leave you.

A sweet love can create a prison and a paradise.

I close my eyes.
I see my beautiful beautiful lady wandering the world.

I wish to have your hand in mine.
To take  long walks on the Monterey sand..

I'm waiting on the Big Surf beach.
I will  wish on the first star in the sky.

To be able to look into your eyes.
Tell you I love you.

"A wish upon a star"
coyote poetry,
This has the forever hope of young love; the optimism that was given an end but the heart dosn't know. Beautiful imagery of a wailing, hurting soul left to regroup and heal. Teqeula is the substitute for the sweetness of kisses and acceptance which were though a given. You appear to of written this a while back but memories can feel like they happened today. I hope that your soul has healed and things in perspective. Wishing you continued satisfaction and inspiration in life and of course your writing craft.
blessings,
Kathy

I believe we can find love if we want. Most of us don't seek true love. Thank you my friend for read.. read more
You might know I would relate to this on so many levels, even tho I probably didn't know of you, back when you wrote this. You've included so many details about this beautiful rugged area that I love . . . & about being an independent spirit . . . & about remembering old lovers over tequila . . . all this could've been taken from my own life, too. As always, your poetry shows us that you always think of the other person first (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

wild things can never be happy when caged John, they have to spread their wings and fly.... all we can do is give them that freedom and send them with love; which is what you did . it's sort of "If you love me ,let me go"
