A wild bird

A wild bird

A Poem by Coyote Poetry
"

Some people need freedom. To lock them up. They will fade away and die.

"

                              A wild bird.

I saw the fear in her eyes.
She told me that "I love you.
I need you."

But I'm afraid.
Afraid of losing myself in a emotion
where I won't be able to escape.

A wild bird can't be captured.
A wild bird may forget the freedom it once had.
But in dreams will fly free and have no walls to lock them in.

I heard her crying at night.
She was swimming in a sweet love
and dreaming of flying away.
Twisting up her dreams and heart.

A wild bird will slowly die.
One day.
The wildness in the eyes of the wild bird will be gone.

She  quit talking of life and great dreams.
Her laughter  faded away.
Her spirit of life was lost in the gentle breezes.

I try to motivate my love.
I took her to the sea, the mountains and
we took long road trips.

I saw her blue eyes become sadder.
I used to see the blue sky in her eyes.
Now I saw sadness and tears.

I will set my wild bird free.
I will tell her to fly away to her hope and dreams.
I will tell her.
I will wait for you.

Somethings can't be held down.
Some dreams are so powerful.
They can kill your energy and joy of life.

I couldn't kill my beautiful lady.
I could not cage her in a love with walls and barriers.

I released her on a sunny day.
I took her to the airport.
I broke my heart.

I found a sort of peace for setting a spirit free to
wander the great world.

I knew when you set a wild bird free.
They would not  return.

A old poem. Youth is the greatest wine. Dance, sing and travel. Life is too short to work then died. Test the boundaries and live each day like it is your last.

Outstanding poetry. A brilliant potrayal of a wild and adventrous soul. We see her through your eyes and her image couldn not be more perfect. It ends on a tragic note and I have started to feel that sorrow and lonliness is as much a part of love as happiness.
A wonderful poem. Great job! :D

this poem hold such a weight of truth in it...
it brought tears to my eyes...
you are an old soul...i wont say a pure one...because each one of us have a stained one...but yours is stained in the right way...and you capture emotions in your fingertips!
you broke your own heart you set a spirit free...
sometimes all of us cant do such a sacrifice...
you live and you let live and for that...a big respect to you...
this poem is by far my most favourite one of yours...makes the heart sigh in delight!

I really like this poem. It shows how if you truly love something, you must put their happiness, their hopes, their dreams before your own. And when they reach that dream, or thta hope, you feel contentment and you find closure. I very good poem that shows the true, and painful but beautiful side of love.

A beautiful write. It emphasizes the actions we take to make the ones we love happiest. Throughout the poem, I myself felt as a bird that was watching a story reveal itself. Sometimes we have to take risks and chances to find what's really underneath our journey's pinnacle. I really enjoyed reading this. Great job :)

I don't know why but that really captured my attention. I love the sweet, evocative words you used to transform this scene and the order it goes by because the wild bird will not always live forever. One day it will come to its most relative reason and end what it begun so far ago. I love this poem and the direction it takes toward youth is outstanding.

Beautifully written. And what a deep love to know what needed to be done and having the strength to do it. Most excellent in all respects. :)

This moved me to tears! A sad story, I am so speechless of what to say! It takes courage and guts not to hold someone captive that you love and don't want to loose. To set them free to explore life and dreams shows how much you did love them! Excellent write! I'm still at awe!
