I remember you.

I remember you.

A Poem by Coyote Poetry
"

Sometime we must return to the beginning. To find the missing person in the mirror looking back.

"

  I remember you.

 The summer days were long.
The splendor of the blue skies and the bright sun.
Beckon us to the sea.

The heat of hot days.
Thaw our cold hearts.
The beauty of Monterey coastline.
Purify the sadness and losses of living.

I remember you.
Waiting for me on the sand.
You called me the laughing Poet.
A fugitive and faithful friend.

You were my sanctuary and imperfect Angel.

Your blue eyes would watch the waves dance on the shore for hours.
Allowing the Pacific Ocean to erode layers of disappointment away.

I would bring wine and bread.
You would bring the tequila.
You sipped it slowly out of the bottle.
We never wallows in old dreams.
We recanted new great dreams.

We tried to tame the memory of the merciless rules of life.

You rested your body against me.
We were lover's once.
Friendship took us to the next level.

Now I needed you to listen to my dreams.
Your eyes make me feel strong and wise.

You told me.
"I am safe and unafraid with you.
When I look into your green eyes.
I know I will be alright.
You are my only friend.
You don't look at my wounds and mistakes.
You love me for who I'm."

I kissed your lips.
Brought you closer.
Our hands held tightly giving energy and hope for when two people find
the safety of love and friendship..

We wandered to Big Surf.
Sat by the River Inn small river.
The only noises were Alisa Fineman in the distance.
Singing words of hope and love and
the movement of the wind and river..

I told you.
"We can't let the world to beat us down.
Take away our hopes and dreams.
Cannot  allow people with greed to steal our
goals and desires."

Now sweet dreams are far away.
I can't remember how beautiful you were.

I'm far from the Pacific ocean.
Dreams are so damn far away.
My impoverish soul screams out for
the dreamers of hope and peace.

The treachery of living.
Slowly took parts of me away.
Leaving a empty shell.

I must visualize.
Go back to Monterey.
Listen to Alisa Fineman's voice.
Find Where dreams and hope were as powerful as the sea.

Allow the memory of a beautiful woman.
Who held dreams and hope of peace so strongly.
To make me come alive again.

Today for the sake of three beautiful daughters.

My Muse words are so important.

Life is be lived.
Leave the bad stuff behind.

We need hopeful people with dreams of peace.

For this world to be a better place.

' You are my only friend. ~~ You don't look at my wounds and mistakes. ~~ You love me for who I'm." '

Those are wise, wise words, my friend, and really are based on real love and understanding. This poem is beautiful, is like a magic shawl of past, present and future, remembering, feeling, looking forward knowing that whatever happens that person has put left a glorious light in your life. Your words are quite wistful at times, but joyful too, places, times, togetherness .. lovely. Could warm my hands on this post.

Just one thing, could you turn the 'I'm' into 'I am', perhaps?

Absolutely love it! The words took me to that same place, where the lovers were, and I felt every emotion. This is probably my new favorite of yours.

A beautiful poem. Capturing beauty of the past, sadness of today, and dreams of life with beauty that hopefully come about.

the only mistake i saw i'm not sure if it was a mistake or not,
"We wandered to Big Surf.
Sat by the River Inn small river."
i don't know if you meant 'in' or 'Inn' like a motel.
besides that this poem made me feel soo many emotions (like your work always does old friend) i have feelings for a dear friend of mine but am terrified of loosing a friend. this poem seems to immortalize the risks and profits of loving a friend.
allot of melancholy and even more regret seems to be shown in this piece. thank you very much for sharing :)

Your words create a dreamy vision and go further to make it appear perfect, like a sanctuary in the mind, a place where you can always go back to, to feel alive and loved once again. Words of wisdom, love and unconditional understanding. Excellent work. I loved it.

Coyote, this is superb! i was finding myself on location everywhere you took me in this well defined and beautifully worded journey through a distant past and a hopeful future. you speak of dreams which i have always had, since my youth and the hippie days... splendid!

“You were my sanctuary and imperfect Angel.” That stood out for me. When a love affair starts out as a friendship it’s often easier to see a person’s imperfections and then learn to love them. You portrayed the transition from friend to lover beautifully.
Well done!

I agree with Emma, the "I'm" threw me off a little bit. Other than that, I enjoyed the poem. It's a deeper understand of love and friendship. J'adore.
