Broken Vessel

Broken Vessel

A Poem by Carolann Dowsett

So much pain
trapped inside
With no where to go
no where to hide

I cry out for release
from this prison of despair
But nobody hears me
nobody cares

A scream escapes
my tortured soul
I fall to the ground
no longer whole

Just a broken vessel
in a life without hope
A girl left in pieces
no longer able to cope

Such lonely sadness, Carolann. But somehow you've managed to show how you feel with gentle beauty and colour - not an easy feat when so down. Pretty sure this is truth, and, feel so helpless to do or say the right words to help. Just hope and pray you can find friends/family who'll show just how much you matter to their lives, how important you are. God willing your heart finds smiles sooner than soon, love.

Thanks :) I'd love to get into song writing
The dark cycle of hurt and aloneness and depression.. a cycle that feeds on itself and grows and flows taking all the good and joy...sometimes nothing seems to help but... you aren't alone - you really, really aren't ...a hand is just a reach away...

A sad poem indeed Carolann. This I assume must be from your imagination, because you should know we all hear you and care about you.

The emotion is very strong and sad. It makes me wonder why you felt this way.

Thank you Robert though you would have to know my life to understand that.
The pain is palpable here, I'm reminded of the LC song, Anthem, the dove is never free, but it also says the cracks are where the light gets in, hopefully your broken vessel will permit the light to enter soon.

Yeah I can tell you're all broken up about it ;-)
But nobody hears me
nobody cares

This is where you are wrong, dear friend. I hear you, I care! This bittersweet write is full of raw emotion. Where you search for hope, emanates strength, a willingness to piece back together your broken heart and escape the shadows of darkness...an epitome of a true Warrior. Stay strong, sweet Carolann.

Thanks so much Traci I'm glad I'm wrong, means a lot that you would say that.
If I have praised this poet a hundred times before, expect a thousand more. I can't begin to tell you how cultured of a writer you are. You capture the essence of pain, love, healing in your writing. This reminds me of the inner child within you, the one that carries all the burden for your warrior spirit. I'm touched by her strength and feel for her when she hurts. Amazing piece.
