A Poem by Centipedle

I can sit and wait,
Wishing for a lot of things.
That will never come to me.

Yet the pain will still remain,
The pain that is real.
Something might never go away.

I could try and convince myself otherwise,
Chase away this loneliness.
Despite being surrounded.

I am my own worst enemy,
And it feels like I’m winning.
To the worse half of myself.

Most of us are our worst enemy. I liked the honest thoughts in the poetry. Thank you my friend for sharing the amazing poetry.

I love this. I can relate to how it feels when two parts of oneself seem to be warring. I like the way your expression feels like pondering, more than telling . . . the reader is discovering these things as the narrator is also discovering the words that happen to pop out to create this. I wish I could capture those random ideas that occur to all of us at different times.

You have to accept what you have, work towards gain, and accept when something is not meant for you. When something is not meant for you it's the universe way of telling you that you are meant for more.

sometimes it feels that way for sure ..very relatable poem ..once we stop trying to "get rid" of unpleasant feelings ... we can embrace them ... they are ours ... as much as joy ... they loose their grip upon us then ... and we are blessed with things like patience, compassion and empathy .. love your poem .. its simple honesty goes a long way .. the theme is universal and your language makes it real .. thanks for sharing Pedle :)

yes you can wellow in your own self pity but no one really cares, but those will support when you move on and show an effort.

Connecting our feelings and thoughts is just part of what makes us who we are. it would be a boring world if we all thought and was the same. Valentine

Very interesting.

I didn't expect this poem to go the way that it went. I was completely thrown off by the title. Welp, that just tells me to stop reading a book by its cover.
