Unknown Sand Runs Ashamed in Paradise

Unknown Sand Runs Ashamed in Paradise

A Poem by Neva Flores Smith - Changefulstorm

Do you remember when our days passed into invisible nights

Where time made no sense as it vanished to shade
Some say the moon tells us where our sun hides in heaven
‘Cause when darkness gathers over fields you see
Glistening dewdrops at play

We hold our breath because a moment remains at midnight
Charming us while pretending to be in a gentle trance
Until what we thought could not possibly exist anymore
Climbs upon our knee to brush our cheek
In a dream filled glance

Stretched out we feel time looks at us as if he were saying
Unknown sand now runs ashamed in our paradise
In those seconds we hide away from the sweetest voice
That can be heard from our whispering moon
Passed into invisible nights

I always feel like our writing compements one anothers so well. I do remember "when our days passed into invisible nights". Thats whats so beautiful about your poetry, it's spoken from your soul, yet you take it to a place where everyone can relate. Everything you do is amazing!

This is absolutely amazing. The last stanza really gives this poem closure, and I love the way you can use simple metaphors and make them beautiful. Favorite lines:

In those seconds we hide away from the sweetest voice
That can be heard from our whispering moon
Passed into invisible nights

You really have a way with words.

What a vision of time, space, light and dark. I think you have heard the moon whisper the sun's reflection. This whole piece was so tasty to my mind as I devoured it. I had to read it a few times just to make sure I was full from its feel.

Great Writing Neva!

This imagery is astounding. Im blown away by how you can manipulate time and space with such ease. The love in this poem is what all love should be. This is the story of true soulmates.

Wow what a strange thing.... when I loaded this page the top of the moon showed and looked to me like a nuclear test photo from the fifties....threw me a wee bit Neva..

Our wee band of pals walk under every full moon, with little ceremonies, and I think this holds the magic that we feel as friends together on those sweet nights.

Light and airy imagery, flowed exceptional well.
My favorite lines: “Climbs upon our knee to brush
our cheek in a dream filled glance”
Nicely done Neva…

the falling - so beautifully presented Neva! and with a photo perfectly illustrating it! and what a splendid couple of lines in the second stanza:
"what we thought could not possibly exist anymore
Climbs upon our knee to brush our cheek"

a complete interplay of the surreal world, the sun, the moon and moments woven in between. I am still pondering over the title trying to decipher it's innate message but the exercise in itself, makes me wonder.. a dream and trance world created through words..amazing!!
