My Fingertips Find Your Picture

My Fingertips Find Your Picture

A Poem by Neva Flores Smith - Changefulstorm
"

my fingertips find your picture, caress your lips......

"

I caressed your face in a picture of you
with fingertips wanting to know
how the light fills your eyes.
Immediately my fascination turned
into a rushing drive
held perfectly in the middle
of where your heart touches the warmth
of all my memories.

These thoughts alone gather
to capture the moon,
can you not see me wrapped
in continuous seasons
when I walk under the same sky
above where you sit?
My mind wanders and I close my eyes,
wishing you were here,
my fingertips find your picture,
caress your lips.

Many of you are aware that I am a widow, this particular piece is not about my husband who has passed but merely about looking at a picture and missing someone who sits under the same sky that you do.

this is so dreamy could hardly fathom the depth...
i ran my fingers to your face ,wondered what strength fell over it
what does it hide underneath, was always surprised, wish you told me
what strength you gathered beneath, how you managed to collect
how you reflect to me,my thoughts all taken by you
how happy am i just knowing that i walk beneath the same sky like you
its the same world i live how i liked to touch ..face and lips
lovely write..

If there were ever a picture of longing painted by words, I would think that you, Neva, have done it more beautifully here than anyone ever could have. As always, I am awed and enthralled by your amazing talent with words. Sometimes I get lost in the spirals of your imagery and forget what you write about. Of course, you always manage to bring me back in the end.

I forgive my absence. I have missed reading your work.

This a beautiful and heart-felt poem. The emotions are subtle but can be felt deep within the heart of the reader. As always, excellent use of imagery. I loved it.

Brings about images of looking at a photo in a favourite album -- the memories that transpire; as we caress the familiar features of the subject!

This is surely a masterpiece, Neva! Keep up the good work!! :)

This is a piece that embraces the soul.
Its hard not to feel the longing for the human touch.

Ah the longing of desire and the wistfulness of nature that holds tight the heart and dreams of a woman;capture it as you would a dream place it in a bottle and you will be rich indeed !

This is such a well phrased expression. Deep, united and smartly written. I could feel the emotion of thought stimulated from visual rays moving past in many conscious ways to assure you are still living and feeling for sure. These words are wonderful! :)
