Keen

Keen

A Poem by Neva Flores Smith - Changefulstorm
"

An older one of mine written in 20l0 poking fun at myself.......

"

There once was a poetess with a thesaurus

As big as the Adriatic Sea
She hunted down words in her book so absurd
Then tortured the world with these

She wrote lavish poems about simple drivel
Using words unknown to you and me
Inspissating her plots so we would think she was not
The hare-brain her friends knew her to be

A plethora of words she abused along with our minds
As she wrote of the redolent roses
Why could she not say how sweet they smelled
Before she beleaguered all of our noses

Now her poems are a panoply of quintessential bliss
If you have any idea what that means
I surely do not and have no intent of learning
So for now I will say she is keen

This is beautiful, as you are. Through the time of life and the experience, we shall die someday as wise as we can. And grateful. Your writing always inspires me sweet sister. As life is a learning process, in all ways. As long as you write out of your heart, it's most precious, than out of rules. (my opinion) I loved this. X

I always say simple is better cause it is purer in expression... I have seen people try so hard to come off smart that the poem loses its creativity and meaning. I like that you can laugh at yourself... we need to be able to do that to truly enjoy life... plus if you want to laugh at others you got to laugh at yourself.

She is a beautiful poet and she is eager to learn like a child.

She is a sweet melody.. :)

Ah, so the poetess has a sense of humor! This was a refreshing poke at yourself that I found greatly amusing. It is wonderful to see that there is something beyond the writer of your poems besides reveries and lovely imagery. I felt that there was something tangible behind this poem, and that is what makes me smile right now.

I think I get the jist of it though I must say a few words I had to find out the meaning of. Nice poem.

Best not to take yourself too seriously/Life is meant to enjoy and far too short to become stiff necked with pride
