When the Stitches of Life Come Unglued

When the Stitches of Life Come Unglued

A Poem by Neva Flores Smith - Changefulstorm
"

I look down at my feet and wonder if they even remember where they have run........

"

Sometimes the unseen embraces all I know
while my skin burns
from the tears of angels
falling continuously
as they face the darkness of voices
speaking within my heart.
I get lost inside of my emotions
and find I've become devoted
to screaming winds
that given precious time
could tear me apart.

I look down at my feet and wonder
if they even remember
where they have run
and if anyone knows of  their regrets
after splashing through the puddles
my passion led them into.
And it seems
even if I place both feet together
I'm still bound
to face that old mirror
when the stitches of  my life
come unglued.

"I get lost inside of my emotions

Sometimes I have a chaos inside me, overwhelmed, emotions screaming for some release or purpose... a fascination with the darkness and wild entropy

This poem speaks to me of those times.

Exciting. Full of strong visuals and actions that any reader can relate too. Without giving direction for emotion, your feelings bleed through infecting the reader in the most wonderful way.

An intricate web our emotions weave...
Another wonderful writing that speaks of those dark corners of sadness.
You've captured the essence of when we've fallen into the depths of a suffocating emotional roller coaster and realize there is no good going to come of it...
" I get lost inside of my emotions
and find I've become devoted
to screaming winds
that given precious time
could tear me apart."

finding our footing again is hard work, but something we must do to save ourselves from becoming lost within our own mind and heart.

And when you promise the mirror not to splash into any more puddles, your feet will turn you away from that image, until, now you are refreshed, a passing strange car will drive the puddle water and soak you.
Great images.Great rhythm. Great sadness.

Such a precarious place, "...and I find I have become devoted to the screaming winds, that given precious time could tear me apart." Poignant and haunting like the songs I shouldn't play over and over again as my heart bleeds out, but am hard pressed to stop the music. You move me to think, feel, and take another step forward.
