Like a phoenix?

i watched every word i've written you go up in flames
and i stood over them, the words that you'll never hear.


i prayed that i'll never have to hurt over you again.


it's over, it always has been,
and we are now, the only thing we could have been.


at this moment, i can't say that i'm over you.


but i'll have high hopes.



every memory makes me cringe.


i feel like my chest is burning but i do know.


love is real, and i don't think i want anymore.


the paper is the embers and the embers are the ashes.


i'm asking for my phoenix.



i don't know what it is that makes me love you
so i couldn't write it down.


maybe that's the problem.


did i just invent something to love?
i'll sell it all just to let go of you

Sometimes, I feel that way, too; Will do anything for everything. Sometimes, just sometimes, we would take the risk and give up everything just for something as well...

Colloquial, would like to see more phoenix connotations in there though. Perhaps something along the lines of a transformation, the pondering and introspective in here is fabulous and the flow is marvellous too, just could do with a bit more spice. Thanks for the read.
