A Poem by CharlyeMonroe
"

Number 6 from The Knockouts

"
Sundown 5th avenue
You
Took the street side
Stylobates
The step low motion making ridges in the foot traffic
Whirling masses
“F**k French chicks”
Phase
Morose, an easier pill to swallow
With a little water in my bowl
Bald girl looks
Like you were going to head butt the earth

Off orbit and taking on gravity
I am glad you came
I have been waiting
All your life
Like those old world, hammock loving ladies
New Mercedes to drive around town in the color of raspberry soda
Cola interior
Coke teeth
Open 24 hours
And picks up
Hiccup curer
Hold your breath
Eyes on
Shades of grey
Sense of humor
Not virgin blood but what ails you won't make me mean
Apples cost extra
Dollar even and nine on in
Knockouts
