Cold Sky

Cold Sky

A Poem by Chassediable

"Look at the light of the sky at sunset"

He said to me "There is no greater sight to be seen in the world"
That evening the sky was alight
Like a bleeding rose, majestic
Passionate, like the one I remember.

But I could not admire it as I had in the past
For the colors of the sky, however magnificent, are distant and cold.
The sky does not love, the sky does not care, the sky does not cry or laugh.
It is not the beauty of nature which holds my heart enthralled, but the beauty of another.

"Cherish this sight while you can, my Brother"

Love this! I like how you said you couldn't admire it as you had in the past. It shows how maturing summons realization of the world around us.

Wow. This is really good. It is mysterious, and I like that. 'like a bleeding rose, majestic' - that line is my favorite! A very good simile.

Thanks! That line in particular provided the inspiration for the whole thing.
