Tribute to Marion

Tribute to Marion

A Poem by Cree Nations

I know a vet

if you saw her you'd shake your head.

She doesn't appear to be imposing

but disparage her country

and it's a whole different bet.

She's not real tall,

but you'd think her a giant

because from that short woman

a warrior will be.

There's a spark in her eye

that should warn you

but most ignore it and see.

She'll square off those shoulders

and look at you mean.

She'll get in your face

and tell you real quick

That this is her country, so bring it on you prick!

She fought for us then

and will do so again

You and me

She'll fight to defend.

This is a wonderful tribute to your friend, Marion, Che. I can see the spirit in her eyes and, from your words, know that she is not one to put up with someone disssing this nation, of which I am a very proud citizen. Very nicely done.

I almost passed this up; then I thought better of it. A fine tribute to Marion.
