Late Night Rambles

"

Heaven won’t hear me plead tonight

Hell won’t hear me scream tonight

You won’t hear me beg tonight.

As I lie wide awake,

I pray the Lord, my soul doth take.

For I fear my strength is running low

I have no courage to tell you to go.

I can’t break free from your hold.

Despite your stone heart being ice cold,

I still tell myself that your love is true.

Despite the bruises, black and blue.

With every broken bone,

I pick up the phone.

But before I have chance to call,

I’m down on the floor: Nasty ‘fall’.

When will you realise,

That people will see through my lies?

And when that time comes round,

The brutal truth shall be found.

As I lie awake tonight,

I give up on this endless fight.

You’re too much for my young heart

And this is why I must depart.

Heaven won’t hear me plead again

Hell won’t hear me scream again

You won’t hear me beg again
