Sleeping Baby

Sleeping Baby

A Poem by Cherrie Palmer
"

The cycle of life

"
Sleeping  baby.

Sleeping  child.

Waking teen

going wild.

Barely legal,

young and free,

judging parents

like you and me.

Grandma waiting

for the news.

A momma crying

as baby coos.

Mother young

relives her past

with a sleeping

babe at her breast.

dear Cherrie... I remember those days when our
children were sleeping babes. We loved and nourished them.
Now they have children of their own. We watch them grow and develop
and experience the beauty of nature and how the wind blows the
willow trees and many other mysteries. A beautiful poem of fulfillment
and wonderment. truly, Pat

The circle of life indeed. Like father like son, like mother like daughter. It must be in the genes, or the economic circumstances which I've found have a lot to do with it.

Nice one, Cherrie. The short sentences make the flow faster which in a lot of cases grabs the readers attention.

I completely missed your review. I'm sorry for not seeing it. Thank you so:)
Time always moves on.
One minute you're bringing them up, the next minute they're bringing the kids round to you.
On the plus side, you get to give them back.

Thank you, I glad too it's good to write with friends who share the passion.
I like that the simplicity still retains emotional impact. I can't stop thinking about The Lion King song "Circle of Life".

Each phase seems like yesterday.
You have captured so well here Cherrie what happens within family situations. Rarely does everything turn out hunky dorey. There are many complications on the way when you raise children. They certainly tests your wits to the extremes at times, but then what would life be without them? Pretty empty.

Thank you Chris, yes wouldn't it be great if family behaved like a well crafted poem. :)
Simple and meaningful. My son just turns one so it really made me realize what's coming my way. Thanks for sharing :)
