Cascading

Cascading

Cascading

Cascading wheat bend to barefeet,

twinkling eyes a starlight treat..

A path is made by fading light to find the moon

to be a pale nightlight.

Cascading water, music to the soul,

shoes in hand,  lapping tide, at toes.

Cascading hair tumbles down,

and cascading dress hits the ground.

Sparkers swim by dead of night,

As emotions cascade, and  lovers unite.

i can feel the water between my toes as i read. lovers engaging in a midnight skinny-dip, caught up in the passion of the moment. the repetitive use of the word cascading is very emotive. nice piece ... :)

… wet sand between toes such a yummy feeling.
Cascading is definitely an underused word me thinks.
Fantastic last line to finish off with.
Got cascading in my mind now.

It's funny but words that have the same meaning can be associated with different emotions.

Think you're right.
This is a wonderful thought from a brilliant mind,
Carefully picking the best words to fill in the gaps,
The lines and rhymes, the rhythm well aligned,
Shows the Incredibility of this writers art.

Ya know I see poems as a canvas too, a snapshot in time.
"Cascading water, music to the soul,
shoes in hand and lapping tide, at toes".

I particularly like that line, Cherrie. Living si near the sea, it really resonates with me. Love the whole poem but that line especially.

I think everyone enjoys barefeet squished in sand with water lapping over them.
Hello Cherrie, this little write gave me some wonderful imagery, and quite seductive with it too. Nicely penned.
