Apple-Jacks (Fried apples with Jack or bourbon)

Apple-Jacks (Fried apples with Jack or bourbon)

A Story by Cherrie Palmer
"

Made these today for biscuits (no canned biscuits please)

"
Slice apples then cut each slice in half (works better than cubing)

6 Cooking Apples Cored and Sliced

1/2 Cup raisins

1/2 Cup of brown sugar & 1/2 Sugar white

1/2 Cup Butter

1/4 Cup Water

 2 Tablespoons Jack Daniels

1/2 Teaspoon Cinnamon

1/2 Teaspoon lemon juice

Set your apples in a bowl with the white sugar sprinkled over them. Let them sweat about 15 minutes while you get every thing ready and / or  make the biscuits.

Melt butter, Add liquids, apples, raisins, brown sugar, and cinnamon; stir to coat. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to low, and simmer, stirring frequently, until apples have softened and liquid has reduced to a syrup, about 10 minutes. Stir lemon juice into apples and serve warm.

Author's Note

Cherrie Palmer
I'll tell you what's even better. dice 1 large sweet potato, 1/3 cup brown sugar, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, dash of salt, and 1/2 a stick of butter same idea as the apples only for dinner and a better texture.

warning label: keep in mind I don't really use a measuring cup(I'm more of a 'hmm, that looks right' cook).

Do you deliver? I'll look out for you on the just eat app.
Today I made coco pops, and a mess when I spilled them. But I had coco pops to eat, so it was a bit like walking on a gravel drive as I was eating them.

For me, there's only one true whisky, Bourbon.
Though I'd never turn down a glass of Scotch.

This is a mouthwatering recipe, all the way down
to the cinnamon, and (for me) apples in any food is a god-send.

If I get to shaking this recipe up, I''ll give you a holler,
or some kind of detection to let you know that I'm dinning on
"Apple-Jacks (Fried apples with bourbon)"

Thanks for the enjoyment.

I grew up on fried apples which is like apple pie on toast or a biscuit.
My tummy is rumbling just from reading this! Thanks for the recipe, Cherrie!

You're welcome cooking with Jack can be tasty
Big biscuits
Preheat oven 375
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon white sugar
1/3 cup shortening
1 cup milk
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Cut in the shortening until the mixture resembles coarse meal. Gradually stir in milk until dough pulls away from the side of the bowl.
