Free FallA Poem by Cherrie PalmerSleeping water gently sways, heaven’s ceiling hugs low the banks. A ray of sun spots light a loon, while tender reeds also move. Scented air around me swirls, honeysuckle and pine cones, nectar of the woods. My silent paddle disturbs fine glass, rippling dreams without a splash a falling cloud blurs out the shore and on leaning elbows, I long for more. Tendrils of mist awake from rest and meet the clouds by the water’s edge. My soul free falls amongst the calm and I rejoice in soul surfing for another hour.
