Hi Cherrie,
I am new so I hope I'm ding this correctly.
Not many poets I've read can create the imagery you have in the humble haiku, in perfect count and form.
I can virtually see the bevy [love the imagery that word portrays] of graceful swans swopping in one after another in a vee landing formation spreading many dwindling ripples across a smooth still pond.
Beautiful writing, poet -- thank you,
Roth

In you Cherrie I think I've already found a friend.
i think the use of the language in this ancient form of senryu is superb, mon Cherrie! absolutely superb .. "Bevy allay low" .. are you kidding me??? here in the USA we have been experiencing the worst, viscous aggressive divisions in my 73 yr. memory. i apply your senryu to this social condition .. would that the bevy could take some comfort in the diminishing ripples .. of course "The Bevy" can be seen in many ways .. the war in Ukraine, the Covid Pandemic ... great stuff in your little gem says i!

And thank you my friend for the review. I'm pleased you enjoyed this simple poem.
"The Bevy" the word is poetical and musical... I LOVE swans so extra extra taste for me here (I stole the photo :>). I remember reading this lovely and beautiful little gem but I don't know why I didn't leave my review? your lines move with life and vibrate with beauty.

Hi Cherrie, Others might think that writing a short fabulous poem such as yours was easy but the truth is when using less words to make a point it actually takes a long, long time to get it just right..
I appreciate your words,
Lisa, now in Spain
haiku by all measures
'bevy allay low' ... great closer

How delightfully romantic. I was attacked by a big bull swan once. His mate had cygnets in a neighboring pond. I just stood my ground and walked right toward him like a predator. He changed his mind and his direction. We can't let the birdbrains push us around. ;)

Lol I used to feed swans in a city park. So as long as you had bread it was all good.
From beautiful artwork to choice imagery word painting, this one sings.
Though, there is one swan displayed, I know from my own experience the raucous noise a bevy of them can make … then, as suddenly calm and quiet as their stilled ripples.
