Twice Aged

Twice Aged

A Poem by Cherrie Palmer

Twice aged.

Fully flavored,

and smooth.

Aromatic aromas, waft through the air.

Triplicity of sugared maple, wood, and char.

Distilled in an amber tincture.

Served neat.

Its bouquet, a lingering kiss.

Come sup with me,

and let us share this elixir,

called life.

Really nice. I appreciate diction choices. The change from Latinate words linger, elixir, to the Germanic, life, is effective.

I'm always pleased when my vision translates. Thank you ever so much :)
I love your vivid description of wine. it sounds intimate as people sharing wine together.

I love the descriptions...the animation of this poem...and of course, what has a bouquet like a kiss lingering?

Life, of course.
If only we appreciated as much as we do an extravagant dinner out.
nicely done, Cherrie,

This was so interesting, at first I thought you were describing a type of alcholic beverage, but a twist at the end, the poem was about life! Nicely penned!

Reading by fireside is so relaxing. However at 96° I guess I'll pretend we built a fire. :)
