This is the night

This is the night

A Poem by Frontier

Blending with the night

becoming its shadow,

Who knew this acquaintance

Could  keep me strong

Darkness

Stealth

Vengeance

are my true friends.

Whispers have become my language,

and my footsteps, the wind,

having  made a cocoon

 out of the world’s sin.

My movements are possessed

by dusk, even my body

seems to be animated

by dark matter.

Human emotions, a library I sit

in during the day and by

night, I try to go unnoticed

by the sun warriors, bearers of fire,

the vibrations of star noise.

The black lake, a midnight mirror

where I spend my hours, tells

me my story in so many ways.

The sun’s rays can’t get to me,

I’m a void and I live to

 cross dimensions,

to stare at you without

eyes and take you with me.

You had me at the opening two lines...sometimes I feel like I'm all shadow and no matter...you have a style and a voice that never fails to speak to me in the deepest and most resonant registers...your beginnings always set the table with thematic perfection, and your endings always seem to wrap it all up in a way that borders on transcendent...libraries can be odd places...I find them to be a very lonely place sometimes, and the perfect setting to drive home the mindset of this speaker, a speaker that I relate to very much...awesome work as always my friend.

A slight ghost feeling and the presence of the spirit which is unknown around us, 'Human emotions, a library I sit
in during the day and by
nigh'
this line blown me away.

I like the story inside the poem. Above lines are very nice. Gave balance and reason for the poem. I like the ending. Left the reader with mystery and thoughts. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

You are welcome.
It's got a lot of nice little secrets in it. "sun warriors, bearers of fire"

the end of it really spacey, and I like that. As the poem progresses, it sort of gets weirder and weirder.

it reminded me of a monk assassin, which is something, like, I never think about monk assassins. it's just how it read, the language used.

hope it does well.

thanks for the read bud
