The curse of the writer

The curse of the writer

A Poem by Cheryl J. Turner

Woe to the curse of the writer

Whose speech is tattered and torn

Make way for the socially repugnant

The melancholy and forlorn

What wretch have they cast upon us

A mute with a wicked fast pen

Speak not a word vile creature

Yet, write one million and ten

Woe to the curse of the writer

Who cannot say a word

Her stupidity doth proceed her

As no intelligence have we heard

Great meter here, a real poet in every way. Here you express thoughts and feelings so many would be writers think/feel .. we try, we succeed somehow; we try another time to emulate the greats and in our own minds - we fail hopelessly.

Writing can be heaven or hell and just occasionally we stand with a foot in both places.

Your structure and lines are well done. Keeps the reader guessing as to theme...is a writer good or bad...of the lower mind or elite...dingy or deep?

Interesting...

There's such a classic feel to it, yet it's such a stereo subject. What goes great with it is the title, very intriguing.
Keep writing, enjoyed this and would love to hear more of you :)

Well done. Feelings of inadequacy and forlorn unleashed in a scathing melody. To me though which is really stupid? the writer or the world that makes her feel that way? 100/100

I had to come back to this write because it could be a curse or dilemma sometime when we put down what we feel with the fear we may hurt or offend someone. So at some point I can relate to this piece. Thank you.

I like it. Big fan of rhyming. I'd of preferred 'Woe is the curse of the writer', but perhaps I'm missing some point.
