Left Impressions

Left Impressions

A Poem by Chilson, Joshua
"

What we do will always leave an impression on the children we mother and father into this world. To be quite honest, I don't think many realize how our behavior has the power to inhibit a child.

"
 People no longer trust,
words have become frail,
pure hearts have fallen,
chaotic morality remains.

 Now and forever,
the power of honesty
rests in those seen feeble,
awakened only in sadness.

 Humanities Virtues,
borderline macabre,
like a plague of the mind,
infecting your ability to care.

 So I admonish,
the gluttonous,
to cherish volition,
and retire aberrance.

 For we are but children,
that walk lonely paths,
leaving distinct impressions,
on the ones we beget.

Author's Note

Chilson, Joshua
I wrote this based upon what I have seen around me. Adults and even children are now losing the ability to hold true to their word. Maybe they were never taught how it can influence many lives.

I write poetry from life experience, though most won't seem that way as I never get into specifics to the events that bring about my work. I'm a silent individual for the most part which doesn't ma.. more..
