The depth of autumn

The depth of autumn

A Poem by Chin-hooi Ng
"

Inspired by the autumn landscape

"

Autumn sways

the countryside is run over

again and again

by dingy air current

birds flying up and down

just like the leaves

under blue gray sky

persimmon tree next to a courtyard

holding onto thick eye-catching green

withering is pressing hard

squeezed by the wind

sieved by the rain

the softness that remains

repeatedly sucked out

by the frost with its silver straw

warm fragrance of spring

and summer meridians

hidden amidst fruits

branches show off

clear red luster

like thoughts of autumn

unwilling to end

crimson raised by the cold

strong as the gale

piercing points along the rhythm of the sun

hanging there as lanterns in late autumn

illuminating the road

for the winter snow.

many of the same thoughts I have when perusing the landscape in autumn...much life but also devastation seen here...and I really like the overall use of alliteration that sparkles in this write.
