You Healed my Heart

You Healed my Heart

A Poem by T. L. O'Neal

You Healed My Heart

Written by: T. L. O’Neal

You came along at the right time

When my heart was broken in two

You took your love and compassion

And the pain in my heart you withdrew

You did this for no other reason

Than to mend a broken heart

But after that my love for you

Nothing could tear us apart

I don’t know if I was worthy

To accept your loving ways

You were always good to me

And for this I have only praise

You make me so happy

This is very plain to see

You loved unconditionally

And loved me for me

You gave passion back to me

And made me feel like a man

With your loving gentle touch

From your silky smooth hand

Like a gentle cool breeze

Turning my embers to fire

You returned my passion

And restored my desire

Now it has been almost ten months

And everyday seems new

I want to repay you with my love

Because you took away the blue

A really beautiful poem, T. I love the strength and conviction of all you say. "Nothing could tear us apart", "unconditional love", "made me feel like a man", it's a relationship at its best. "I don't know if I was worthy - To accept your loving ways - You were always good to me - And for this I have only praise". It's just so sweet it makes me want to cry! Sounds like you guys are lucky to have found each other. Beautiful poetry on both pages for your birthday. There is no better gift in the world than true love from someone's heart!

This is very sweet and heartfelt. This poem is well written and well expressed, with emotion and love. Plus, this is a great tribute to the one you love in general.

Nice job. Good luck in the contest!

What a wonderful poetic tribute for the woman that has obviously brought out the best in you. Really, truly, it's the bottom line of life, what more could anyone ask for? Sweet blessed love, it's my wish that everyone could experience this. I am tickled for you and for her as well. Bless you both, my warmest wishes too.

"Took away the blue" I like this line in paticular.
Not everybody gets a chance to meet somebody like that.
Good one and I hope you win.

You 'one-upped' everyone with this poem, Terry.
Especially at this time of year, when we all search for ways
to express our appreciation for others and no one can find
words to adequately express what their love is, you have cast
caution to the winds and demonstrated "love".

Most of us try to define love and affection, but this poem sums
up what we feel. Where words fail us usually, you have pierced
the love barrier, Terry. You did it !

Thank you for this poem which speaks volumnes.
My Favorite.
