Dream

Dream

A Poem by ChristianM
"

Dream I had

"
I awoke to the sound of a furious river, churning for me
The rapids tore me from my dream and into the sea
I broke the surface to a glorious sun, lighting the way
It shone on a forgotten island, surrounding a dangerous bay
The monsters from the depths brought me below the deep
I saw a glimmer in the sand, a sunken castle, a knight's keep
With all my strength I swam for it, reaching the black gate
I swam into the fortress and looked upon my destined fate
An angelic beauty, chained to a throne, atop a fiery hill
I was there to rescue her, a dying Princess, a diminished will
Down with a furious blow I struck the chains that bound her
I swept her up, clenched my fists, ready for battle to incur
By the hundreds they came, no mercy, no escape for me
I put myself on the throne, the dying Princess now free

Haha @ j.Black. Well, I do agree, I mean you do have one fertile imagination whilst dreaming. :D

Holy s**t. Wow. Either you are on drugs, or just have a beautiful mind of its own. I want the kind of dreams you have. They are beautiful.

WOW! This is amazing! I've only read about dreams like these in novels. I never knew that people could actually dream these vivid images! I heard that if a guy (or girl) has to rescue somebody in a dream, then they are feeling powerless when they are awake and they want to feel strong and needed. That's just food for thought.

How interesting that the narrator on the throne frees the princess! Interesting shifts of power here. The people who teach Shakespeare's Hamlet and King Lear would have a lot to say. Love the fairy-tale sense and the vivid images. Or, to say it another way, dreams can be really weird, can't they??
