Some Day I'll Some Day

I’ll wake up some day

That’s when I’ll take my first breath

Air filling my lungs

Sending blood rushing through my head

I’ll feel the cold earth beneath me

And I’ll feel the warm breeze brush against my skin

I’ll hear quiet voices making barely any sound at all

All foreign whispers to me

Then I’ll open my eyes

And I’ll stare deep into the heart of the universe

A pervasive darkness

Guarded by blazing giants

The persistence of infinity

Will be the first thing I witness

My soul will jolt upwards into the abyss

And my body will fall back into the earth

Some day I’ll wake up.
