self portrait (wine is fine)

self portrait (wine is fine)

A Poem by cl8thegr8
"

i wrote this to myself, and i'm not sure if i should or shouldn't drink wine while writing. :)

"
are you the watcher
of self destruction
vile corruption
and late night loving?
wanting something more
always wanting something
precious is as pretty does
beauty has no role to play
in the ridiculously vicarious cycle
of hope and lust and faith
needing to be needed
i'll start that right away
and dream the dreams of yesterday
with a grin upon my face
to thine own self betray....
tomorrow means another promise made
beneath the diluded sayings
and the thought about things
the righteously sought after
breathe in deeply
breathe out faster
know the truth
about yourself
recognize above all things
the lies and tales of someone else
so worry not
wonder why
cry to release
live to die
and pick up all the things unbroken
or unspoken....
walk and talk the charade of a straight line
embrace and cherish the down time
live the coincidental
love the controversial rhyme....
