The rose

The rose

A Poem by Elwina

You might think you are the thorns

Of the rose I have admired

Claws from a chest that makes me bleed

But I am more than the scratches on my skin

My heart is strong

And the moon will always uncover to leak its wounds

You are lost in a game

And blinded by a sight you think is light

But in the dark

Only I can dance under the moon

Only I can rebirth

Every time stronger than before

I will leave you

As you have held me

Heart cold, looking away

I will run like a wolf

Towards arms of other soul

One with brighter eyes and a stronger heart

I will leave you

While I bleed from the memory

Of what I've seen behind the wall

Of who I’ve seen that you could be
