A chill runs through me

A chill runs through me

A Poem by Claire Lorraine

A chill runs through me

Piercing my veins

Blood frozen and heart beats vain

Coldness unfurled like sails on the sea

Windswept in bitterness I hold against thee

Thou knowst what ye did

Yet the unrepentant shall not live.

Against thee, thee alone doth the ice harden as stone

Melt not nor summer come

No warm days laughing under the sun

Gaze at me not or ye shall find

Medusa’s glare cruel and unrefined.
