Miami Vice

Miami Vice

A Poem by Michael Knight
"

My poem on my city: Miami

"

The sun sets, the night takes over

Familiar feelings come back again

Full moon out and the music shouts for you

The beach crashing in your name

Out of your place, out of your niche

The back of heads fill your vision

Screams of entertainment, Bright traffic lights

It all seems too real

Everyone is out for himself or herself

Out for nobody

This is your domain

The beach waves crashing louder

Walking on a path of sand

Beyond the neon skyline

Sand touching your shoes

Naturally feeling good

Wind whips your hair back and forth

The smell of the ocean intoxicates you

High on the feeling of the nightlife

Too many vices were committed

And no law to prevent it

The perfect indulgence for the night.

So much has happened, but nothing has changed

No direction and no map

For awaits the next night
