Revenge 3

Revenge 3

A Story by Dead Angel
"

His revenge shall be complete

"

It’s a beautiful night, stars shining bright and the full moon is bigger than ever; you couldn’t ask for a more perfect setting to kill someone.

“Paul.” Aurora's voice called to me from the living room. As I walked in, she was standing next to the TV watching the news.

“Last night authorities found a body in the park and another in the high school football field. They have been identified as Tyler Hennessey and Mack Hartridge. Reports say that one of the boys suffered from a broken neck while the other was drained of all his blood.  So far the police have no suspects.”

Aurora shuts off the TV and turns to find me smiling.

“No one saw you right?” she asked.

“Ugh! Aurora you worry too much.” I replied. When I looked at her, she gave me a stern look. “NO! Ok, no one saw me.”

   “Are you sure?”

   “Yes damn it! I'm sure!”

I was getting irritated at how she constantly treated me like a baby. I've learned how not to be detected and how to cover my tracks; she just needs to back off.

“You know I care for you Paul, I only ask because I don't want anything bad to happen you.” She said

Great, now I feel like crap.

I went over and hugged her, she's been like a mother to me and I shouldn't be treating her like this; not after everything she's done for me.

    “I'm sorry Aurora, I shouldn't have snapped.”

She smiled at me and gave me a kiss on the forehead. I left a few hours later, Aurora gave me some last minute advice and to be home before sunrise. She really was like a mother.

I decided last night before going to sleep that I would save Chad for last, he was after all the one that caused Adam's fall; so Zach was next on my list. Unfortunately for me, I found them both together at a club.

Oh well, I'll just make Chad watch as I kill Zach. I thought.

I peered through the window on the roof and saw those two idiots trying to hit on girls. They were giving them cheap pick up lines and grabbing their asses. One even smacked Zack in the face and it looked liked he would've struck back, but the bouncer came along and kicked them out.

“Hey watch it, get your hands off me!” Zack said.

“M**********r, my dad's going to buy this place and I'll make sure your a*s is fired!” Mack said.

“Yea whatever.” Was the bouncer's only response.

    A*****e, I thought.

I waited until they were in a remote area so I can attack. They headed over to a restaurant and as they went in Adam's sister, Bethany was coming out with a group of friends.

Glad to see she's doing alright.

She had really grown up since I saw her at Adam's funeral. She was wearing makeup and jewelry; she looked great.

When she saw Zach and Chad, there was an awkward silence. All three just stood there staring at each other. Nothing happened for a whole minute, and then Zach opened his mouth.

“What the f**k are you looking b***h?”

“Yea, beat it dog!” Chad added.

Bethany just turned and ran the other way; I saw that she was crying. Her friends ran after her, but not before calling Zach and Chad jerks. They just snorted and walked in.

M***********s! I was so enraged that I wanted to go in there and rip both of their heads off, but I knew I couldn't. I just decided to make their torture even more painful.

They sat, ate, and didn't leave until 45 minutes later. They were walking and laughing, having the time of their lives.

“Hey man, you going to Mack and Tyler's funeral?” Zach asked.

“Yea I guess. It was pretty messed up how they died though.” Chad said.

“Yea…you think he did it? Paul, I mean.”

“No way. He's a wimp; he doesn't have the sack to commit murder.”

“I don't know man. They say he ran away and hasn't been seen or heard from. You know what I think; I think that maybe he's back in town. Maybe he went to Japan or China or some s**t and learned how to kill people…and they showed him this move were you just puncture some guys neck with two holes and that makes all his blood come out. That's what I think.” Zach said. (I couldn't help but laugh at that)

“And maybe you're an idiot. Let it go man, some other f****r killed Mack and Tyler and the police are gonna catch him, and I hope they fry the b*****d. Come on let's go smoke in the woods.”

    YES! Perfect. I thought

They walked a few blocks until they found a broken gate that lead into the woods. Business owners usually put a gate behind their buildings to keep out the wildlife. Once they entered, they walked a few meters before stopping and lighting a cigarette. I positioned myself behind a tree, but not before blocking the broken gate with two dumpsters. Now they have nowhere to go. It's finally time.

As they were sitting, talking, and smoking, I appeared behind them.

   “Hey guys.” I said.

They both turned to me and were startled.

“See man I told you he was here.” Zach said.

“Shut up! Hey Paul, what's happening? How ya been?” Chad replied

“Oh nothing much, just been doing some killing and stuff. Nothing big really.”

I stared at them smiling, Chad was smiling as well, and Zach was just worried.

“So you did kill Mack and Tyler.” Chad said calmly.

“I don't see why not, you all did kill Adam.” When I stepped into the moonlight, Chad's smile faded. They saw my pale skin and since I was still smiling, they saw my teeth. “You are partially right Zach, I did learn how to kill people, but not from the Japanese.”

Then they started running for the gate. When they saw that it was blocked they continued running looking for a way back into town.

“Let the chase begin.” I said.

They ran along side the gate wall trying to find another opening; I couldn't let them get back into town, so I moved quickly. I stayed in the trees waiting for the right moment, when they were a few feet in front of me I jumped. Chad was right in front of me so I smacked him clear across the face and he went flying into the woods. Zach helped him up and they ran away from me and the gate.

Now I've got them right where I want them.

I jumped back into the trees and followed them. They finally stopped, breathing heavily; Chad was massaging his face. They were a mile from town and at the trench Adam died in, of all places.

“What are we gonna do?” Zach said hysterically.

“Look for something to use a weapon!” Chad said.

“There's nothing you can do. Just accept that you're going to die.” I appeared from behind them again; ready to end all of this.

Then Zach went from being completely scared to fighting to survive. He looked around for some sort of weapon until he came across a broken branch with a pointed end. He charged at me with it, I positioned myself and right when he was about to stab me, I smacked it right out of his hands and it flew a few feet away. We were face to face and he was scared than ever, the air reeked of his fear. Before he could run away again, I slashed my hand across his throat, for a while nothing happened, then his neck started pouring out blood. Then with my other hand, I slashed open his chest and even more blood came pouring out. He was bleeding so much that it was so tempting, so I grabbed Zach and sank my teeth into him as well. That was a big mistake for me. As I was drinking Zach's blood, Chad came from behind me and stabbed me with the same branch I knocked out of Zach's hands.

I screamed out in pain and fell to the floor. It so agonizing I could barely get up, but Chad didn't even give me chance to. As I was on the floor struggling he came and punched me on the face and then kicked me in the stomach.

Come on! Get up! GET UP!!

Chad grabbed the branch again and lifted it over his head, getting ready to thrust it through my back.

    “Goodbye Paul.” He said calmly.

As he pulled the branch down, I quickly moved and the branch struck the ground. Chad looked in all directions, but couldn't find me. I was in a tree regaining my strength, then I leapt out and landed right behind him. When he turned, I grabbed him by the neck and squeezed hard. He tried to break free but it was useless.

I looked in his eyes and said, “Goodbye Chad.” Then I pushed my hand in his chest and ripped out his heart. I threw the body a few feet away and tore his heart to shreds. Next thing I knew I fell to the floor due to the massive pain I was in. Before I completely passed out, I saw Aurora coming towards me.

I woke up 2 nights later in my room with a bandage on my back. Aurora was sitting next to the bed reading a book. She looked up when I started moving. It felt like the first night I woke up here all over again.

“Welcome back.” She said. “How do you feel?”

“Good, thanks. What happened?” I asked.

“Well you managed to kill everyone, and in a gruesome way I might add.”

I forgot that you could see the trench from here. After all, that was how she found me; then it hit me.

“What about the bodies? If the police find them there they'll see the house and come here.” I was already realizing my big mistake.

We never kill anyone close to home because then that will lead everyone here and our secret will be out.

Damn it! Why didn't I lead them the other way?

“Relax Paul, I moved the bodies back into town when I finished bringing you back here. I told you you get sloppy when you get too excited.” She said with a smile, I couldn't help but smile as well. “So, you got your revenge, what's next for you?”

I already knew what I had to do next.“I want to go see an old friend.”

Aurora looked at me confused, when I explained myself she let me go.

I was at Adam's grave; I hadn't been there since his funeral. I told myself I wouldn't visit him until it was all finished. God I miss him!

“Hey bro, its me, Paul…Sorry I haven't been here in awhile, I had business to attend to…I got them for you Adam; I got 'em all. I know it's not what you probably wanted, but…I couldn't let them get away with this…I just couldn't.”

    “Paul? Is…is that you?”

When I turned around, I saw Bethany was there. She had a bouquet of flowers in her hands.

“Omigod it is you.” She dropped the flowers, came running up to me, and gave me a big hug.

    Bethany! I…I…”

“Oh I missed you. I was so sad when you left. Everyone is going to be so happy that you're back, especially your mom, she was so sad when you left too and your dad...”

“Bethany stop! I'm not back, I can never go back.” I stepped back so she can get a better look at me. When she did, her eyes got wide and she gasped.

    “Paul…you're a…a…”

“A vampire, I know. But please know that I'm happy where I'm at and I did what I had to do, I did if for Adam.”

    “You killed those boys.”

“Yes, they couldn't let them get away with what they did. Look Bethany, Adam was like a brother to me and I had to get revenge on those b******s…I just had to.”

She looked at me with so much fear in her eyes, as if I was some sort of monster, it kind of hurt when she did. I started walking away but she grabbed my arm and hugged me tighter.

“Please don't go. I don't have anyone to talk too. You were the only one I can relate to, other than Adam. Please stay.”

She started crying, which made leaving all the more difficult. I pulled her back and looked in her eyes.

Bethany, I'll always be watching over you.”

I kissed her on the forehead and left. I kept my promise; I did watch over her, even when she slept, and made sure no harm came her way. I even rescued her from getting mugged.

My revenge was complete, the boy's murder was still unsolved, no one could figure out who or what killed them, and that's the way I liked it. I still stalk the night with Aurora and she still teaches me some new stuff. My new life as a vampire is going to be interesting, I just know it, if it isn't, well then I'll have to make it interesting, won't I?

The End.

Excellent my dear. It moved quickly. Finished nicely. Could be expanded quite easily into a wonderful series, much like "The Green Mile" or "The Blackstone Chronicles"

Excellent work!

Very good end, trilogies can be tricky, but you handled it perfectly and what you have done is created a great 3 parter that is a FANTASTIC read.
