The theme or mission statement of my church is "never again the same". This poem came in response to that theme.

Lifting spirits

Lifting me

Dip your life

In kerosene

Light a fire

Light a flame

Never again

Never the same

Brand new life

Brand new flame

Never again

Never the same

Take the fire

Torch the old

That old thing

Covered in mold

Drown it in fire

Drown it in flame

Never again

Never the same

Emerge a new

Brand new shine

Robes of white

Never looked so fine

Through the fire

Through the flame

I do actually have some poems I've written in the form of songs. While this one isn't one of them, it does have a certain rhythm to it. It's more of a life statement, I think.
