Promises

Promises

A Poem by Mason Rayburn
"

Written as song. Focus more on what the words say than their flow.

"

Hey...girl
Just wonderin how you looked today.
Don't we all just look the same...on the inside?
Guess things didn't turn out quite alright.
Your eyes must have lost the light
We promised...

That the sun would never set upon our rage
And our minds would always end up on the the same page.
We promised that love was all we needed
And that would be what we believed in

Made a promise to you the other day
We knew that nothing could ever be the same
Our lives would always cross it seems
But we just were living in a dream

That the sun would never set upon our rage
And our minds would always end up on the the same page.
We promised that love was all we needed
And that would be what we believed in

We promised
We promised that to each other
We never wanted any other
But we promised
We promised...

That the sun would never set upon our rage
And our minds would always end up on the the same page.
We promised that love was all we needed
And that would be what we believed in
