The Brightest Star In The Sky

The Brightest Star In The Sky

A Poem by CoconutSprinkles08
"

A poem about a dear person I know who is fighting cancer...

"

Zac lies in a hospital bed
Slowly dieing of cancer in his head.
To be a rock-star,
A dream held close to his heart.
The ex-boyfriend of a good friend.
One day,
I thought I could love him
Without a bittersweet end.

Everyday,
I wonder how to save him,
Anyway to save him from an end,
Could the cancer take me instead?
He's one of those people
I would take a bullet for.
One of those people
I'm living for.

How he captivated me,
A Mystery.
How I need to save him,
Destiny.

Is he a sign
That love will never be mine?
Or
That I have to stay strong
Because life will move along?

It scares me
How death can strike
Before dreams come true.
Though we fight,
We can be overpowered.

I never realized before
That life can stop in an instant.
I never gave thought
To threat close at hand,
One flaw of man;
All the doors can close
Before they're unlocked.
Out of our control
The bullet is shot.

Tonight,
I'll miss the brightest star in the sky.
A hole in my heart....

An angel won't be coming back...

Zac

This poem is about a guy I met through the school musical. He dreamed of becoming a rock-star, and he had the talent for it. He's one of those people I get a feeling about. The feeling that tells me he/she is an important person in my life. Right now, Zac is fighting brain cancer. Doctors discovered a brain tumor, he went through surgery to remove it, and now he is chemotherapy for his cancer. In 2007, I lost my grandmother to cancer and last year I lost my grandfather to cancer as well. now seeing that it can strike even the young, and the one who was one of the very few people who didn't judge you and was always the nicest person you've ever met, I'm terrified. I hope everybody finds at least someway to help others who are suffering from this terrifying killer. I know I will.

Very inspirational reading this...just hits you...I also know the feeling of lost...my mother passed to Leukemia in May 2007 and do we fully recovery from it...no...but we go on because they want us to do so...I like that you give meaning to those that died for a fault not their own choosing...
