The Lights Are Off

The Lights Are Off

A Poem by Cody McGeary
"

Another attempt at poetry

"
The Lights Are Off, Nobody's Home
No Ones Here To Talk Me Down
The Doors Are Locked, Can They Get In?
I Just Bath Here, In My Own Sin

Paranoia Sinks Deep
I'm A Cross-Eyed Sleezy Creep
I'm All Alone But I Can Hear Screaming
Who's That? My Guilty Conscience

Colors Swirling, I Am Falling
To My Doom Or Eternal Bliss
The Windows Melting, I Am Crying
The World Is Falling, Am I Dying

I Am Looking Down The Hall
But No One Is There
Am I Going Crazy?
Is That Footsteps?

Nothing like a house when you are alone and hear the sounds to create fear and tension. I like the emotion of this poem. The mind can trick us into hearing things that may move in the night. A very good ending to a excellent poem.
